Hello everyone and welcome to our first official “newsworthy” Battle Cry Newsletter. We want to start by saying thank you! Thank you to the many people who are utilizing the site. Thank you for the positive feedback that we have received so far. Thank you to all of those who are helping share and like our Facebook page so that we can get the help to those who need it. And thank you to all those who have been praying for us.
In light of the most recent world events, it is hard to go any further without addressing that very issue, COVID-19, the Coronavirus. It seems that this is the focus of our site traffic/Facebook page at this time, and that is ok. This site was meant to help MANY people through MANY of life’s circumstances…including food distribution!
We want to encourage everyone to please check out the Facebook page regularly, as we are reposting ALL notices we receive via Facebook regarding ANY and ALL help being offered. If this goes on for an extended period of time, we will put together a more user friendly list, but for the time being, please just scroll through the Battle is Real Facebook page for details.
I will note however, that it seems almost all of our local school districts in Michigan (possibly throughout the USA) are offering options for either food pickup from the school itself, or they are using the current bus routes as delivery points for pickup. It is our suggestion that you call your local district and see what their method is and to ensure that you are on the food distribution list.
With regards to our local soup kitchen, they have been ordered to stop their daily meal service, but have moved their operation to a pickup only situation and have altered the distribution times to accommodate more people. Please visit our Food Page for links to local soup kitchens for more details on that.
We encourage feedback here at Battle is Real. If you know of a service or program that helps our communities (across America), please email us (using the link at the top/bottom of the page) the information and we will get it up on the site. Remember, this site was created to be a centralized location for obtaining much needed help, so the more information/resources we have on here for people, the better!
Thank you again for helping us help people! We look forward to receiving more stories (at least 3 more are on the way!) and your comments/feedback.
We will leave you with this….“Do not fear” the Lord tells us many times in His Word. He even says that the “birds do not worry about where their food comes from…are you not more valuable to Him then the birds?” YES, you are!
We are not going to starve. We MAY have to go a season without all of the luxuries we are used to, but that won’t kill us! We are going to make it through this. Don’t panic. Don’t over-buy supplies so that others don’t have the basic necessities they need. Check on your elderly neighbors. Offer to help them get supplies if they need any so that they can stay home. Do the next right thing…and we will ALL be ok. God is on the Throne!
Be Blessed!
